Sunday siesta and mangos

I woke up from my siesta and felt like snacking on something. Took the stairs and made my way to the kitchen and searched for something to fill my hungry tummy. Looking around and there they are...mangos (or mangoes). I sliced one and about to gobble it up when hubby came from behind me; caught me. In any event, I shared with him some. He doesn't eat much of it, so I had most of it.

They are now in season. And when they come in truck loads they sell them really cheap. I bought these ones at 4 for a $1. They are good the way they are or dipped in bagoong (shrimp paste). Yum!

Gusto ko yung ginisang bagoong! I love the firm and almost ripe ones, they are the best! Hmm, I am salivating now.

I have not been to the Oriental market for a while, will check on these!

Ebie,
You can find them also at Mexican grocery stores, like, Vallarta and Tresierras. They also have the Mango Manila there.
Thanks for the visit.

Wow mangoes, my favorite!! Here in Japan, the mangoes cost $1 a piece or 99 yen and it's from Philippines, it's the "piko" mangoes. I love the green mangoes too with bagoong, so yummy!

Missy,
A dollar a piece! WOW! The most it would cost here would be $0.75 - mahal na yan - 0.50 average price. What we have here come from Mexico and other parts of South America. You know, I have a Japanese friend who never had eaten mango until she came to my house. It was so-so for her.

Thanks for the visit.

I bet you're missing the best mangoes in the world - Pinoy! Nonetheless, those mangoes look really good.

Have you started enjoying the summer yet? Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

I still prefer the Filipino mangoes. Sometimes they are labeled Manila Mango but you know they're not, you can taste teh difference.

I love the bagoong that goes with that too.

Joy,
Yeah, our very own mangos (or mangoes) are the best. Miss 'em, but have to make do with what we have here.

Thanks for the visit.

Photo Cache,
Yup, nothing beats the real McCoy.

My most favorite fruit of all- MANGO! Which reminds me -it's time to visit the oriental store where we get our phil. mangoes from . It is half an hour drive away so I don't get to have them as often as I'd like to.

Mari, if there is anything I love America about, it is the cheap commodities. Be prepared when you come down, be prepared for you will be surprised by our staggering prices here.

With 4 for a Dollar, I can be ravenous with mangoes for that price. Eat without limit. It's good for us. And I prefer it eaten process free.
